What you can do as a prao student with us
As a praoe student with us, you will be involved in and experience many different parts of everyday life in a creative jewelry business. Depending on the time of year, this may involve:
- Be in the store and meet customers.
- Assist in packing orders for customers throughout Sweden.
- See how we photograph and present our jewelry online.
- Learn about materials, design and care of jewelry.
- Get an insight into how we work with social media marketing.
Who is Praon suitable for?
- We welcome all pre-school students and see it as an extra plus if your interest is in line with our activities.
- You are in grade 8 or 9 and we welcome everyone who lives in Stockholm or anywhere in the country and has the opportunity to live in Stockholm during the prao period.
- You are curious, meticulous and like to work with your hands.
- You are interested in fashion, design or entrepreneurship.
Practical information
Location: Our store and workshop in Lidingö, Stockholm
Exam periods: We accept students from all over the country during the municipal exam weeks.
Working hours: Weekdays, daytime by arrangement, but most commonly 11:00-17:00.
Tutor: You will have a personal tutor throughout the exam week.

What practice periods do you accept students?
We accept students throughout the year, but it is safest to apply during the periods we open up for applications where we also clarify the exact weeks. For autumn 2025, this period is 25 Aug - 5 Sep.
Do I have to have experience with jewelry to try on your products?
No, that's not necessary. We'll teach you everything you need to know during the week.
How many practice places do you have per period?
The number of places varies but is usually 1–2 students at a time so that we can provide good supervision.
What will I be allowed to do?
You will get to try out different parts of our business – from meeting customers in store and packing orders to seeing how we photograph jewelry and work with social media.
What hours do you work as a pre-school student?
Working hours follow our opening hours, usually between 12-18.
Do I need to bring anything myself?
No, we provide all the materials and tools needed. All you need to do is wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Is there a possibility of a summer job after graduation?
There may be opportunities for summer jobs or extra work later on, but that is not something we can promise in advance.
Where is the workplace located?
We are located at Friggavägen 18, in Lidingö Centrum, and you can easily reach us by public transport.
Am I insured during the trial?
Check with your school what applies when you are out on prao.
I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. There were three of us at the same time so I got to meet new friends too.
Absolutely the coolest praon of all!! Loved that I got to talk to customers...
It was so much fun trying out so many different things – from helping customers in the store to packing jewelry and seeing how the photo shoot is done. I learned a lot and the week went by so quickly!
